SSF Gives Back to the Community | Buddy Mentors

Bright Future Launches New branding for the Buddy Mentors Program! Buddy Mentors matches local youth who can benefit from positive role models with caring adult volunteers. The mentor offers encouragement and guidance to the child. By spending time together and enjoying a friendship, the mentor encourages the youth to dream bigger and grow stronger! Through mentoring dyads, children and teens develop a sense of belonging, security and self-empowerment. Research suggests, when compared to their peers, youth who are involved with a mentor are less likely to use substances, less likely to skip school and less likely to engage in physical violence. Learn more about the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a local child who is in need of a positive role model. Eagle County’s Buddy Mentor Program is based on the national Big Brothers Big Sisters model of mentorship. The program strives to inspire and foster youth through consistent and trusting relationships while providing opportunities for the community to be actively involved.
