The first segment of a proposed two-part gondola, a marquee feature of the new village to be built at the base of Vail Mountain, has received approval from the U.S. Forest Service. Another component of the new village planned for the west end of LionsHead has just been completed also, a snowcat and snowmobile access road appropriately named Cat Alley. More approvals are needed but the development known as EverVail is on track and on schedule, according to the Director of Mountain Public Affairs who expressed hope for final approvals by late summer or early fall.
